A Landscape Inside
I am drawn to cold, clean, and quiet places. Their landscapes are tied to a feeling of clarity and purity. I can hear myself and notice my breaths. There are no distractions to take me away from the groundedness of my being. The environment that I live in is so different from that kind of a place, so I cocoon the landscape in my heart. I tap into it in the quiet moments at night before going to bed. Even without deliberately conjuring an image of such a place in my head, if I sit quietly and feel my breaths pulsing in and out from under my chest, I am already there.
