Homework for Adults

Daily homework for adults:

  • Take at least one picture a day of anything that moves you. Even a black speck on a wall.

  • Hug yourself. The one without any gap between your arms and your chest.

  • When it’s hard to get up in the morning when the alarm rings, don’t get up. Give yourself 30 more minutes.

  • Whatever you feel, feel without judgment.

Sometimes when I am sitting by the window, I perceive from the side of my eyes a bird or a large insect flying off. The dark object dashes past me so quickly that sometimes I wonder if I had imagined it. I do my homework for the day knowing that the living world moves at a pace and from a source of mystery that is independent of what I can see.
